This year only had 362 days! At least according to my counting. I was wondering if I got off in my numbering somehow. Anyway, another year later, and 3 years worth of 365 projects 🙂 Many photo’s and memoried captured that I probably otherwise wouldn’t have picked my camera up for.
A snow angel to finish the year. She is actually on a lake 🙂 We have joined a few families from church for an overnight camp in Crowsnest Pass to cheer in 2016 🙂
The two littles and I went for a drive and then a little walk to see if we could find a new sledding spot.
Kent has been wanting to do this forever. We shopped for the supplies nearly a year ago, and it needed to get done, before the differences in our hand sizes is minimal!! We made a mold with playdough, strategically smooshed each of our hands in, and poured plaster of paris in the cast. It worked! Yay. And then the kids got to destroy the playdough. Our plan is to make a neat frame and it be some wall art, for the very empty walls of our house.
We went and checked out a (frozen) lake that is about an hour from our house with some good friends. So amazing. Even though this is my 4th winter in the frozen north, I am still in awe at this wonderland. We shovelled the snow off a patch of the lake big enough to play on – Skating, running, sliding, hockey, sledding, being goofy with your sister……
And we finished our afternoon off sitting around the fire roasting hotdogs. In my opinion, life doesn’t get any more Canadian than that!!
This is my fourth winter in Canada, and I still am amazed that things freeze solid here….that a lake can be walked and driven on. And a fire lit. That is crazy talk. We had a fab time with our friends playing at Grave Lake.

Every year, Kent hides the kids stockings. They are eagerly awaiting the word ‘go’ to take off on the treasure hunt.Sunglasses, just because.And being very excited with what she found inside her stocking!Some present opening, just one gift before breakfast.Our breakfast feast, with everyone in the frame. bar the cook/photographer.And now fully into the presents! Kent got a speaker, which he was very happy about.Sequoia made me the most amazing scrapbook. I was super touched by her thoughfulness. She couldn’t have given me a better gift.Grandma knitted Chelise the coolest doll.Pretty happy with her book,I got a new backpack!A little reading,more presents (we are so spoiled!)New ski’s for this one.And then sometime later in the day we headed out for a walk / sled.
We were on our own this year, and we enjoyed a day of it just being us and our agenda 🙂
And it looks like our dreams will come true. We shovelled / Snow Blowed 3x today 🙂
